- Allowable Tonnage
Allowable Tonnage
Each tool has its own limitation for applied tonnage and this allowable tonnage is determined
by tool profile.
Therefore the tool must be used safely with conscience of allowable tonnage.
Allowable tonnage marking on the punch
Allowable tonnage marking on the die
Marking shows allowable tonnage per meter.
This means applied tonnage depends upon the bending length.
Example: product length 200mm to be bent by the tool of marking shown
as 700kN/m.
Allowable tonnage to apply should be 700kN/m x 0.2 = 140kN/m
Use the lowest allowable tonnage on the punch and die for calculations.
